Dr. Ates' research focuses on pasture management for sustainable animal production and improved product quality. His current research interest includes;

  • Evaluation of pasture forbs with high bioactive compounds for livestock production, health and environmental effects; Livestock production in agrivoltaics systems; Management of self-regenerating annual legumes in permanent pastures in dryland conditions; Use of spent hemp biomass in ruminant nutrition; Dual purpose management (grain/hay and pasture) of small grain winter annuals.
